We’re not kidding when we say it’s all about the food. In this case it’s all about a “burger” – that’s right - perhaps the “BEST” hamburger in the entire RGV. This place is so off the beaten path you’ll probably have a hard time finding it, but you’ll be glad you did. In fact the place has no signage, no parking lot, and if you don’t pay attention to the address, you’ll drive right by.

Upfront, you need to know its “cash” only – no credit cards accepted. Their menu is simple but not cheap: You can have a single or double, with or without cheese, and add some bacon while you’re at it. You also have a choice of either French fries or onion rings. And to quench your thirst, two types of soda cans are available. That’s it.

As for the place itself – expect no more than some folding tables and chairs, a roll of paper towels, and a salt and pepper shaker at each table. You’ll also find no counter menu, no table menus, no silverware, no promotional or marketing material, and no Wi-Fi. Simply put, you’ll find NO Frills here. Period.

What you will find is “quality” meat – this place uses nothing but the best cuts to grind their own patties. These burgers are always ‘fresh’. These burgers are BIG. These burgers are moist and juicy! They’re made-to-order with all your favorite trimmings.

All-in-all this place is nothing special, just a humble place that serves some of the best burgers that money can buy. This family owned business is living proof that when you put your heart and soul into it, success is possible. From what we understand, Gonalez Bertas Burgers have been here for many years. No marketing, no advertising, no gimmicks, no internet presence. Our hunch is they’ll be here serving burgers way after national chains go out of business, so get in your car and head to Donna for one tasty hamburger.
